Biomarker Science (BMS) has identified many biomarkers that can be used for assessing disease-onset-risk by extensive pretomics studies. BMS has also developped "LOX index", a novel predictive biomarker for coronary heart disease and stroke (Clinical Cemistry 56: 4, 550-551,2010). BMS has been implementing contract studies to evaluate potential benefits of functional food materials to reduce disease-onset-risk. BMS is aiming to introduce risk-reducing products to people, as well as to show the risks they have. Moreover, BMS is implementing a joint resaech of a stem cell-based regenerative medicine for heart failure to assist commercialization of the technology (two patients have been successfully treated) . |
